What is communication?

Today Ates and I have asked our students of this workshop the overall question: What is communication? We got a lot of answers as listed below:

The transfer of information with media

Intentional and unintentional messages

Relationship between sender and receiver

Non-verbal and spoken

Soundwaves to express yourself

Verbal and non-verbal interaction between sender and receiver

All that we can do or say in order to exist

The message is subjective and transformed by the receiver during transmission

Depends on the perspective

Two questions were asked by the students:

Is communication studies a science?

Can you communicate with yourself?
